TYCEC CATCH AND RELEASE FISHING POND

Thanks to the generous support of the Daniel F. & Ada L. Rice Foundation, the Illinois Conservation Foundation has a brand new fishing pond at the Torstenson Youth Conservation Education Center (TYCEC) near Rockford.  Stocked by the IDNR, this pond will allow children to experience catch-and-release fishing.  And with the support of the Louise Y. Mokadam & Family Foundation, there's also a handicapped-accessible pier, allowing children of any ability to experience the thrill of reeling in their first catch!

To make fishing even more exciting, several ICF friends have donated products for a "tagging" program.  If a youth catches a tagged fish, they will win things such as their own Grandt Custom Fishing Rod, a bait package, tickets to the Chicago Outdoor Sports Show, or even a guided fishing tour. Thanks to the following corporate donors for making fishing more fun for kids, and helping ensure a lifelong love!
