White Pines State Park

The tree trimmers had to cut down the tree located to the east of the gift shop.  We were sad, as that tree has provided great memories of seeing squirrels and chipmunks darting up, down and around it, but our rangers were concerned about the tree's stability, being so close to the Inn. Our park personnel and the Inn's staff got together, and thought it would be great to make a wood carving out of the trunk - a carving of a tree with a chipmunk, squirrel and possibly a raccoon!   We are asking for donations to help to get this project done!  Plus, as you know from listening and reading the news, the state is having a very serious budget crisis.  We believe our beautiful park may need some financial assistance this season, and we want to do our part!  Our Park Superintendent has set up a donation account through the Illinois Conservation Foundation.

It only takes a minute to donate.  Select Program, click on the drop down menu and select State Parks, Enter your donation amount and select Check Here to Select a State Park and select Assist White Pines State Park Operations. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
