Torstenson Youth Conservation Education Center

The Torstenson Youth Conservation Education Center provides a place for Illinois youth to unplug and learn the values of "Turning Screen Time Into Green Time" by exploring, growing awareness, fostering self-discovery, developing teamwork skills, creating memories and becoming the future stewards of our natural resources and environment.  The Center serves schools, conservation and scouting organizations, park districts and other outdoor related groups throughout Illinois.

About the Center

The Torstenson Youth Conservation Education Center is a 750 acre facility located at 13735 Cook Road, just east of Pecatonica, Illinois, in Winnebago County, along the Pecatonica River. It is a great venue for outdoor, conservation or environmental education lessons, field trips, workshops and meetings.

Youth groups of all ages are welcome. You can provide your own programs or ask our staff to help plan your outing. The Center will be offering ecology, environmental, conservation and outdoor skills workshops to adult leaders and educators to promote, for our youth, the desire of the late Mr. Robert Torstenson.
